I, Ashma Aryal, permanent resident of Devchuli, Nawalparasi Bardaghat East, Nepal, am a child and youth right activist. I have been enrolling myself in various social work since an early age of 11. My motive at the beginning of my journey towards this sector was personal growth as child clubs provide us an opportunity to participate in different types of training and seminars. But as I learned about the problems and worked through the solutions, my interest towards contributing to this cause grew and solidified. Also, my enrolment in different social clubs gave me motivational grounds to work for the welfare of the children of my age in this regard. Till now, I have worked as president of a child club in my school at class 6. In the year 2014, I became vice president of the Municipal level child network. I have further served as a secretary of district level child network as well. Likewise, I have also served as secretary of the province level child network. I also got a chance to be an advisor of the Girl Empowerment Project (GEP) which had a tenure of 3 years in Devchuli municipality, which was organized by Jagriti Child and Youth Concern Nepal (JCYCN) and KANALLAN. Similarly, I was selected as an Asian Girl Ambassador for the year 2018 and was successful to win the title “Asian Girl Human Right Award 2018” in Taiwan, taking part in Asian Girl Campaign by Garden of Hope Foundation. Currently, I am working as a board member of Jagriti Child and Youth Concern Nepal (JCYCN) and as secretary of Nepal Youth Network for Sustainable Development Goals.
